At Bistech, we focus on helping people achieve their full potential. Shaun explains how Bistech has supported him to develop his technical knowledge through training opportunities and qualifications.

Starting a career

I’ve always had an interest in technology, so I was keen to start my career with Bistech as it meant I could work in an industry I enjoy. Even though I studied an IT related degree, I had little real-world practical experience, so as soon as I met with Bistech, I knew it would be the best place for me to learn.

Training and development

There have been lots of opportunities for me to continue developing since joining Bistech. I’ve been here for four years now and gained multiple technical certifications from industry leading vendors. Recently, I achieved my Enterprise Routing and Switching Specialist Certification (JNCIS-ENT) which is a real accomplishment for me. I didn’t enjoy or really understand computer networking during my university degree but now it’s one of my key strengths.

Roles and responsibilities

On a day-to-day basis, I support our customers with a range of different technologies across various projects. I also work alongside our Projects and Provisioning teams to help roll out other key services. For example, I recently acted as technical lead to migrate several customers from their existing email security solutions to a cloud platform, which was great to be involved in.

The Bistech team

One of the best things about working at Bistech is the team. I trust everyone to deliver on promises, and they give me that same level of trust in return. And when we’re faced with a challenge, we always work together to achieve a positive outcome.
